They look larger than they are, because you can’t see the guy’s hand. They’re actually about 5 inches across, including legs. That’s still freaking huge and ugly!
Yeah, I learned that about them. Five inches is big enough for me! I also, having been bored stupid, discovered that they’re not truly spiders, although they’re called “Camel Spiders”, and they’re not scorpions, even though they’re called “Wind Scorpions”. They’re related to both but are an entirely seperate species. And there are a number of urban legends about them, including that they eat camel guts for lunch. They don’t.
