CBS had a puff piece on The Olsen Twins online from December 2003. Here’s a quick excerpt.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren’t just rich and ambitious, they’re mini-moguls. And they’re already worth, by some estimates, $40 million each and counting.

Did you know that the Olsen girls are not identical twins but fraternal? Amazing, I know.

More importantly, did you know that it’s quite possible these two girls (now 17 years old) may be billionaires by the time they turn 18? Damn, I’m a failure.

Amazing how fraternal twins can look so identical. Even more amazing is how much of the creation of that $40 million fortune they had a direct hand in. They’ve been controlling their own careers since they were like 10, controlling how their money is made since they were 14-15. All new products, endorsements, ideas, etc, have to go thru the twins first. If they don’t like it, it don’t happen. The Mary Kate & Ashley Clothing line (available at WalMart) was entirely their idea, and it’s proven to be a HUGE money maker, because little girls love it (my own daughter included). Some people tend to think the Olsen’s are too “cute and sweet”, but I think they might actually be a pretty good role model for young girls.

And Kevin and Bean of KROQ are taking bets on how long it takes after their 18th birthday for Hef to get them in Playboy. LOL!

I can’t believe they are fraternal twins! I did not know that, and it’s difficult for me to believe.

Mary Kate Olsen is getting out of the hospital!
