Why does “stainless steel” not mean “rustproof” or even “rust-resistant”? Tell me.
It depends on the alloy composition. I agree with you, however, it is highly misleading.
No steel, however alloyed, is “rustproof”; just that some alloys resist oxidization more than others do.
So exactly what “stains” are “stainless steel” objects free from, if any? The designation stainless would indicate that it is completely “less” some stain, no?
